If you need assistance, please contact us...

Your browser...

To use Cimar, you must be using Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later.  You will be able to explore the service, worklist, its functionality and features. This account will not give you any demonstration of automated DICOM routing (AET Push) which requres our DO Router software, but will give you an understanding of some of the strengths of Cimar.

Your network...

You will need network clearance if you are behind a corporate firewall. For this reason you may find it easier to test the service from a WiFi internet connection at home. Open the cmieXchange and enter your the user name and password for your demo account which we will send to you by email.

To view images...

To view images, you will need to download and install the Cmie Viewer (click on downloads at the top of the page). This is essential as the viewer not only enables you to stream radiology images in lossless quality, but it is also responsible for decryption and ABOve2000 decompression.

You may receive a message: “CMIE_Viewer_Setup(1).exe is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer”. Click “Run anyway” - we assure you it is safe. Once installed, close your browser, re open and login again. This ensures the viewer installation is complete.

You will be promptd to install an ActiveX plugin. this is crucial as it paires you with the server as a validated user. Please right click on the yellow bar at the top of your browser window, and click install. Now you are all set.

To start streaming images click on the button furthest right on the patient record. Please allow time for the programme to respond. It may take 10 to 20 seconds for the images to start streaming to the viewer depending on your PC specification and bandwidth speed.

To uplaod images...

To upload a file of DICOM images from your hard drive or from a cd, click the upload button. Confirm that you want to use the Cranium_Web_Dicom_Router.exe and click to Run Anyway if you see “Cranium_Web_Dicom_Router.exe is not commonly downloaded and could be harmful to your computer”.

After 5 to 20 seconds(again, depending on your PC and connection speed) the CMIE Router plug in will open. Click on “Import image file from cd or computer” and select the location of the image file(s) you want to upload. Wait several seconds (depending on the size of the file(s)) and an imported images notification will appear. Click OK.

In the bottom pane, the patient details will appear. Double click on study description and a preview of the study will appear. Select the images for uploading (by default all are selected) and then click Upload Images (top right) and the upload will commence (some error notices will be seen as the service discovers the optimal route). When the upload is complete click close.

Now log in to, or refresh your online worklist again, and the study will be in your list (sorted by study date). Assign it to the correct assignee (if not there then ask them to register to this site) and a confirmation notice that it has been assigned will appear. to this record you can also add any documents (Max 2mb each)
