National paediatric emergency image referrals
CATS provides emergency referral and transport services for paediatric episodes across the UK, with specific focus on the North Thames region of the UK. Previously, emergency patient episodes where brokered and diagnosed over the phone, resulting in the best clinical decisions reasonable given no immediate visibility of the patients images and clinical notes. Cimar, in collaboration with Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOS), developed and rolled out CATSi, a version of Cimar's service that enables any clinician, at any hospital to send clinical images direct to GOS in moments - and needing no software installation to do so...
Cimar now enables specialist clinicians and consultants, located anywhere, to be immediately involved in providing the best and most appropriate clinical decisions for the patient. Images can be assigned to which ever sub-specialty consultant is needed, 24x7. All image transfers are simple and quick, requiring little or no training to send radiology to GOSH
- Virtual, secure and fast referral of Emergency episode images
- Patient and specialist consultant can be located anywhere in the UK
- Better clinical decisions and faster patient transfer planning
CATSi was nominated by NHS Innovations London for the 2008 software innovations awards, and was runner-up from over 60 contending entrants..
